The EAASI Young Ambassador Program is a unique platform designed to elevate the voices of early-career professionals working in aerial surveying. Whether you are a surveyor, data analyst, sensor specialist, or communications professional—if you work for an EAASI member or observer company and are passionate about making a difference—you can be part of a growing network that represents the future of our industry.
What is the EAASI Young Ambassador Program?
The Young Ambassador Program is an initiative from the European Association of Aerial Surveying Industries (EAASI) designed to spotlight young professionals working in aerial surveying. The aim is to showcase the wide variety of exciting career paths in the industry, support future talent, and give visibility to the next generation of innovators.
Who can become a Young Ambassador?
Any young professional working at an EAASI member company can be nominated by their employer or self-nominate. There is no need to be an expert or have many years of experience. Enthusiasm, curiosity, and a willingness to share your perspective are what matter most.
What does a Young Ambassador do?
Young Ambassadors share their personal experiences in the industry through:
Simple social media posts (with full support from the EAASI communications team).
Occasional participation in EAASI events (e.g. the annual Summit)
Optional involvement in interviews, videos, or school outreach
Informal bi-monthly online check-ins (optional)
There are no fixed obligations, and all contributions are fully supported by EAASI.
How much time does the role require?
The program is designed to be flexible and low-commitment:
Around 30 minutes to 1.5 hours per month
Activities can be adjusted depending on availability and comfort level
There is no formal “trial period” or long-term obligation
What support is provided?
Plenty! Young Ambassadors work closely with EAASI’s Communications Manager, who assists with writing, reviewing, and shaping all content. You’re never alone—you bring the ideas, and we help bring them to life.
What are the benefits for the Ambassador?
A visible platform in the industry to share your story
Skills development in communication, networking, and public speaking
A strong addition to your CV and professional profile
Opportunities to attend major EAASI events
Connections with peers across Europe
Do I need to be confident in English or public speaking?
Not at all. You don’t need perfect English, and you can opt out of public speaking or videos if that’s not your thing. The program is about authenticity and diversity—your story and perspective are what count. Also, remember that Young Ambassadors often participate in local initiatives like visits to schools, universities, and exhibitions, where you can present in your national language.
What’s in it for my company?
By nominating a Young Ambassador, EAASI member companies gain:
· Enhanced employer branding: Showcasing your commitment to developing young professionals can make your company more attractive to potential recruits.
· Increased employee retention: Providing opportunities for growth and recognition can boost employee morale and loyalty.
· Access to fresh perspectives: Young Ambassadors can bring new ideas and innovative approaches to your company.
· Networking opportunities: Your Young Ambassador will connect with other talented individuals and industry leaders, expanding your company's network.
· A cost-effective way to engage in talent development: The program offers a structured framework and support, reducing the burden on your company to develop its own initiatives.
· Demonstrating social responsibility: Participating in the program aligns your company with EAASI's commitment to fostering the next generation of geospatial professionals
