The European Association of Aerial Surveying Industries (EAASI) has concluded its impactful participation in INTERGEO 2025 in Frankfurt, reaffirming its growing relevance within the global geospatial community. The association’s two signature events – the Students Tour and the Annual Networking Event – both saw unprecedented success, underscoring EAASI's commitment to industry collaboration, talent development, and visibility.
INTERGEO 2025, which attracted over 18,500 visitors from 119 countries and 530 exhibitors, served as the ideal platform for EAASI to connect with members, stakeholders, and the next generation of professionals.
The EAASI Students Tour, now in its second year, experienced overwhelming demand, with registration closing ahead of schedule due to the limited places being fully subscribed. Led by Patrik Meixner, Chair of the EAASI Students Committee, and Marcos Martínez-Fernández, EAASI Secretary-General, the tour provided students with direct exposure to cutting-edge aerial surveying technologies and invaluable interactions with industry leaders. This enthusiastic response highlights the increasing interest among young talent in the diverse career opportunities within the sector.

The annual EAASI Networking Event saw record attendance, bringing together an extensive gathering of aerial surveying colleagues and stakeholders. This year, the event was uniquely co-hosted by EAASI members GeoFly and OPEGIEKA, whose stands were conveniently located directly opposite each other. This collaborative layout not only fostered a strong sense of community but also provided significantly more space for attendees, contributing to the event's extended duration and even greater success.
During the gathering, Florian Romanowski, President of EAASI, emphasized the critical importance of collaboration. "In an increasingly complex and competitive global landscape, the future of our industry hinges entirely on our ability to work together," Romanowski stated. "Cohesion and collaboration are not just beneficial; they are absolutely vital for the sustainable growth and innovation we all aspire to achieve”, Romanowski stated, encouraging members to put forward candidacies for the upcoming Board Election.

Marcos Martínez-Fernández, EAASI Secretary-General, provided insights into the eagerly anticipated EAASI Summit. "We are excited to announce new additions to the Summit agenda, including a timely panel discussion on Sustainable Aviation Fuels, the challenges of GPS jamming, and the crucial role of National Mapping Agencies," Martínez-Fernández noted.
Additionally, a productive EAASI Board meeting was held successfully on Thursday morning in Frankfurt, with strategic planning for future initiatives.
Beyond its dedicated events, EAASI further elevated the profile of crewed aerial surveying throughout INTERGEO. Four articles written by Communications manager Ada Perello featuring EAASI's work and showcasing real-world applications of the technology were distributed in two prominent industry magazines (GIM International and Geomedia), reinforcing the association's efforts to raise visibility and demonstrate the practical value of the sector.
