The deadline for the inaugural Outstanding Thesis Award closed on the 31st of August 2024. The award, established to recognize and encourage excellence within the aerial surveying industry, received an overwhelming response from talented students across Europe.
The quality of the submitted research work was impressive, showcasing the innovative and cutting-edge research being conducted in the field. EAASI was particularly impressed by the wide range of topics explored, demonstrating the diverse and impactful contributions being made by these young researchers.
As the leading non-profit association in the European aerial surveying market, EAASI recognizes the importance of fostering connections with the next generation of professionals. The Outstanding Thesis Award, "Spatial Business Bridge," was established to incentivize post-graduate students to explore the intersection of Geospatial and Business, particularly in crewed airborne data acquisition.
The award recognizes scientific works that effectively bridge technical geospatial applications with business elements, focusing on practical application and value generation in the public or private sector. EAASI is particularly interested in theses or equivalent project reports that demonstrate a deep understanding of the geospatial industry and its potential to drive innovation and create value.
A distinguished panel of experts from academia and industry will carefully evaluate each submission based on criteria such as originality, technical merit, practical application, and potential impact. The winner of the Outstanding Thesis Award will be announced on October 31st.
The winner will be invited to the EAASI Partners Summit 2024 (Athens, 19-22 November 2024). Read more about the summit here.
